A MESSAGE TO OUR CLIENTS AND PARTNERS REGARDING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK2020/03/19
These are extraordinary and trying times. It has been less than a week since our normal work practices have been turned upside down - and the situation continues to evolve rapidly.
NFOE is closely following developments on a daily basis and is endeavouring to ensure a safe work environment for our staff, our clients and our partners - those working in our offices, in project offices and on construction sites, and those working at a distance. We are continuing to deploy measures to permit our personnel who wish to work from home to be able to do so, wherever technically feasible. We ask for your patience and understanding as we transition to a new way of working.
NFOE has implemented the safe working and personal hygiene practices recommended by the Public Health Agency of Canada, as well as the following measures:
- All in-person meetings with clients or other partners in our offices are cancelled. Participation in meetings will be limited to conference calls or virtual meeting platforms.
- Business travel will be evaluated and authorized on a case by case basis.
- Although construction sites remain open, in-person participation in site meetings is forbidden. Site visits will only be permitted where required personal hygiene procedures have been implemented. Personal interactions are to be limited to situations where appropriate personal distances can be maintained.
Mandatory and voluntary responses to the COVID-19 outbreak are the steps necessary to ensure the health and safety of all, and to reduce the impact on our health care system. However, these measures are not without consequences for our clients, our staff and our business.
NFOE remains in operation and committed to providing a high level of service to its clients through this difficult period. Despite these efforts, we anticipate that there will be losses of productivity and efficiency in some areas of our practice. These may include postponements of meetings, delays in response times, and possibly delays in issuing documents. We are tracking project progress and will inform our partners and clients of any unexpected impacts on their projects. We sincerely regret any inconvenience that may result, arising from these exceptional circumstances that are beyond our control. We will continue to respect government recommendations and to prioritize the health and safety of our personnel.
Be assured of our continued co-operation and collaboration during this unprecedented challenge.
