Center for Innovation in Agrosciences and Agrotechnology
The CIEL/AGTECH Innovation Complex in Lanaudière brings together two organizations focused on advancing research in agriculture.
The Lanaudière Industrial and Experimental Hub, "CIEL," is an applied research center in agriculture, recognized in the field of plant production both in Quebec and Canada. Due to the sustained growth of its activities and the need to upgrade its equipment and facilities to keep pace with technological advances, CIEL requires a new agroscientific complex. This new complex will accommodate all its activities and also complete the development of its scientific programming.
The AGTECH Zone is an innovation center that provides startups, entrepreneurs, and companies with a conducive environment to create, develop, and commercialize technologies that address today's and tomorrow's agricultural and agri-food challenges.
The new CIEL/AGTECH Innovation Complex will be located in L’Assomption, at the center of a new technology campus. The four-story complex will consist of a main building housing CIEL’s research activities and the development activities of the AGTECH Zone.
Greenhouses will be attached to the main building for CIEL’s research purposes. Another building, designed for agricultural use, will serve as a warehouse and storage for agricultural equipment. As a result, the CIEL/AGTECH project is poised to influence agricultural research and become a hub for a new sector of innovation.
