Contract softgel capsule manufacturing facility

This transformation and expansion project of an existing building in Pointe-Claire was designed and executed by NFOE. The chosen solution was to retain and renovate the existing administrative block to accommodate the company's headquarters, quality control and research and development laboratories while production and warehouse portions were rebuilt after demolishing the old, deteriorated warehouse.

Given the high visibility of this project, situated alongside a highway, it required a distinctive architectural treatment that is easily perceivable at high speeds. The NFOE team proposed an arrangement of exterior panels that ensured a high-performance building envelope and provided a dynamic, balanced, and aesthetic architectural signature.

On the main facade (Trans-Canada Highway side) as well as on the west facade, the vertical arrangement of the aluminum panels on the warehouse, set back approximately 25 meters from the front of the building, enhances the vertical effect of the black and white aluminum panels on the foreground volume, highlighting the headquarters section.
