J.-Armand-Bombardier Pavilion and Main Pavilion

Connecting, Innovating, Educating: A New Collaborative Hub Between Two Pavilions

This project links the J.-Armand-Bombardier and Principal pavilions through an underground connection, creating efficient and functional circulation for students, faculty, and staff alike. The J.-Armand-Bombardier Pavilion was expanded across five levels — two of which are below grade — to introduce new academic and research spaces, including shared pedagogical platforms serving multiple departments. The Principal Pavilion received a two-level underground extension to the south, complemented by the addition of an atrium that animates the connective spaces between the two buildings. The hydraulic research laboratories were relocated, enlarged, and modernized within the newly created spaces of the Principal Pavilion.
