Laurent Mercure, who earned this master’s degree in architecture from the University of Montreal in 2014, distinguished himself early on through his involvement and excellence, recognized by the Alpha Rho Chi medal. Joining NFOE in 2012, he contributed to various institutional projects, research laboratories, and technological facilities. From 2017 to 2021, he led production teams in other Montreal firms on large-scale industrial, residential, and commercial projects across Canada. In 2021, Laurent returned to the firm as Practice, Quality, and Innovation Director. Laurent plays a central role in all the firm's projects, supported by a mobilized cross-functional team. Under his direction, the team implements standardized quality control processes, trains staff, and adapts Building Information Modeling (BIM) to the specific requirements of each project. This ensures coherence and uniformity among the deliverables of the different project teams, thus reinforcing the firm's operational excellence. Within the management team, Laurent leads strategic planning and continuous improvement projects. His certifications in project management (PMP) and process improvement (LSSGB) are certainly assets for the company as well as for business partners.
In addition to his responsibilities at NFOE, Laurent chairs the professional inspection committee of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec (OAQ) and serves on the boards of directors of the OAQ and the Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC), actively contributing to the evolution of quality standards in architectural practice in Quebec and Canada.
