Integrated Cancer Treatment Centre
The new hospital complex in Quebec will optimize the delivery of specialized and super-specialized care within a single hospital ensemble on the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus site, replacing the current practice of providing such care across two separate hospitals. The total area of the new constructions is 180,693 m², with a redesign of 27,492 m² planned within the existing hospital premises. Executed in two phases, the project consists of a first phase of construction, including the Integrated Cancer Center (CIC), a new thermal power plant, and a generator building.
The CIC regroups the primary specialized and super-specialized ambulatory services offered in oncology, incorporating clinical research and educational and training services. An initial LEAN process, starting from the functional and technical programming stage, involving numerous Kaizen activities and workshops with the clinicians responsible for the radio-oncology sector, ensured a thorough understanding of current services to optimize them.
